The following is a partial list of the Freeport men who were wounded in and are missing since the late battles before Richmond: Franklin Losee, in the hand; Elijah Raynor, in the leg; Skilman Cornwell, in both legs; and Absalom Mead. Asa Smith and Charles Raynor of Freeport are missing. -- Brower of Milburne was also wounded.
(Elijah Rayor and Asa Smith eventually died in the Civil War. Their names are listed on the memorial plaques at the Freeport Memorial Library.)
